Caffe Buono: revisited

I went back to Caffe Buono this past Saturday to bring one more piece to hang up and there we sat enjoying an awesome panini, admiring the view, when an older couple walked in and picked a table to sit at. As they walked over to it, the woman passed two paintings and said,
"oh, Sinatra! Nice." and then they admired "Dominique" on her motorcycle and admired the colors on the canvas. He went on to say to his wife, "I'd like to see you pose like that on a motorcycle." Then they chuckled. It was nice to see my paintings bring joy to the people around them and nice to get some feedback from the public, especially since they didn't know the artist was sitting right behind them.

Kiki Art displayed at Caffe Buono for month of July

I am happy and excited to say, Kiki Art is being displayed for the month of July at:
Caffe Buono
215 Newark Pompton Turnpike
Pequannock, NJ 07440-1317
(973) 406-408

I've been on the waiting list for a year and man, how year flies by! I got a call from the owner on Wednesday saying, "Tomorrow is your month, so come on in and hang up your work."

It was a busy week for me and I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but I was there for three hours putting hooks up & wire on the back of each painting and hung each one up myself. When I was done, it was nice to sit back and enjoy all my "babies" being displayed at once, so people can get a big dose of "KIKI!" :0

Kiki Art now sold at "Paws By the River" Pet Boutique

12-8-09

Today, "Paws By The River" Pet Boutique in Piermont, NY will have it's GRAND OPENING!

The boutique is the first store that will be selling Kiki Art in hopes that many others will follow. Paws By The River is a distinctive shop for dogs and cats! www.pawsbytheriver.com

The owner, Sheryl Fuhrman is also a supporter of C.A.T.S. Inc. the organization I head up as the Adoption Program Director. Sheryl adopted two great cats from our organization earlier this year, so it was exciting and wonderful to hear that Sheryl was moving onto bigger and better things, as we stay in contact with all our adoptee's; like one big extended family.

I was at the boutique over the weekend to drop off some of my work and what a great "first" impression the store has. It's set up beautifully and has such great gift items displayed with easy access. I wish Sheryl all the luck in the world.

If you ever have the time to stop over, it is a must see. Piermont is such a beautiful, relaxed area with many art galleries, shops and resturants to spend the day at. We go quite often and highly recommend you do too!

Website Update, The Holidays and Events....

Okay, it is now 1 am and I'm still typing...this is crazy.

I've recently finished the update of my site KikiC.net with the help of First Course Design
http://www.firstcoursedesign.com/
and I am very happy it's finally finished. I will of course have the occasional updates as I create more paintings to display.

The first newsletter campaign I sent out didn't start off as I planned. Not realizing at first, that many of my friends and associates don't know me as Kiki ( a childhood nickname I now sign my paintings with.) So most people either spammed my email or deleted it.
Way to go Kim...but hey, this is all new to me and very detailed. I'm still learning.

So now I sent out an "introductory email" asking all my friends to now "opt in" and join my mailing list powered my Mailchimp.

Let's see how this goes... second time's a charm? :)
I did get a few responses from the first newsletter however, and it looks like I'm on my way to making two sales. ....very, very, happy about this! Tis the Season!

Cheers!

Van Saun Art in The Park Rescheduled for 10-4-09

I'm a little late with this, but better late then never....
The show was cancelled today due to the rain, which is fine by me as feeling a little under the weather and not so prepared this time, so tomorrow will be better.

Looking forward to it as many that were unable to make the Edgewater Show are available tomorrow and this is a different area so it will be nice to get different views on the show.

Looking forward to seeing you all there and check in soon as the website will be updated with my new work shortly!

We were there for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. It was on a side street that has many cafe's to choose from which believe me, we did, as we went on the hottest day ever.

It's been a while...

It's been a while since I last posted anything, but this summer as been busier then ever. Besides working a full time job, I run a rescue organization for animals and with the economy this year, people have been surrendering their animals or tossing them out on the streets left and right. It's very sad. Not to mention the explosion of kitten season this year, I swear, I feel like no one's ever done TNR (trap-neuter-return) before.
Anyway, that and trying to paint whenever I have the time seems sometimes impossible, but I have total A.D.D. when it comes to my love's and hobbies. Hmm... wish I could cut out the full time job all together, wait, opps.... I forgot, have to pay rent this month, oh well....guess I must work, that or until I'm discovered.... hmmm...pipe dream? :)

I've gotten a few new pieces out in-regards to my last blog, where I mentioned I was working on a new type of art deco collection with animals. Most people that have come to my apartment and see my paintings and totally ignore them half the time, :) absolutly love these new pieces I'm working on, even people who aren't animal lovers, love the creativity of them.
After I finish the last two pieces I'm working on, I will be able to hire my really great webmasters Mike and Greg from FirstCourseDesign.com to come back again, and touch up my site!
So be patient, you will see my new creations soon, so go back to your facebook or twitter and continue to entertain me with your daily posts, I love seeing who's getting their nails done today or who's happy today, it just completes me and makes my life seem that much more, worth living. :) LOL!
